SUMMARY

Responsible for the production output including basic repair, cleaning, and troubleshooting of basic machine faults. RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure cleanliness of machine and machine components by making use of hose, air guns, IPA, cloths, vacuum and other appliances

Ensure line maintains productivity levels needed to meet production demands

Quickly address machine faults and alarms and resolve them quickly

Report any issues requiring a technician to the line supervisor

Produce products that meet quality standards with minimal defects

Monitor standard equipment settings and escalate deviations for adjustment

Help equipment technicians repair the equipment if needed

Help other operators during breaktimes and flexibility to cover other work areas

Ability to follow standardized work and not deviate from SOP and work instructions

Adhere to the policies and procedures.

Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by management.

Job Description: Outdoor Maintenance Worker (City Landscaping)

Location: Guntersville, Alabama

Position Summary

Performs routine outdoor maintenance and landscaping services that support the appearance, safety, and usability of public grounds and rights-of-way. Work includes mowing, trimming, planting, litter removal, basic irrigation tasks, and general upkeep of parks, streetscapes, municipal facilities, and other City properties. This position operates hand and power tools and works as part of a crew under the direction of a supervisor or crew leader.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, trim, and blow off grass areas in parks, medians, sidewalks, and facility grounds.
• Perform landscape maintenance including weeding, mulching, pruning, bed edging, leaf removal, and seasonal cleanup.
• Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and turf; assist with fertilization and approved herbicide/pesticide applications as directed.
• Pick up litter and debris; empty trash receptacles; assist with event setup/cleanup in parks and public spaces.
• Perform basic irrigation duties such as checking heads, clearing clogs, replacing minor components, and hand-watering as needed.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and small tractors/utility vehicles (as assigned and trained).
• Conduct pre-use inspections; perform routine maintenance (fueling, greasing, cleaning) and report equipment issues or safety concerns.
• Assist with minor repairs to park amenities (benches, signage, fencing) and general groundskeeping tasks.
• Place and remove traffic control devices/cones and work safely near roadways and the public.
• Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean and professional work area.
• Complete work logs or simple records (equipment checks, daily assignments) as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support City maintenance operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• General knowledge of grounds maintenance, landscaping, and safe use of hand/power tools preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a crew.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge of safe landscaping practices and basic equipment operation.
• Ability to recognize common hazards (traffic, heat stress, uneven terrain, tools) and work safely.
• Ability to perform basic math and measurements for materials and layout.
• Ability to communicate respectfully with supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
• Dependability, punctuality, and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Physical & Working Conditions

• Work is performed primarily outdoors in heat, humidity, cold, rain, and other weather conditions.
• Frequent standing, walking on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, and repetitive motions (trimming, raking, shoveling).
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (with assistance as needed) and handle tools/equipment safely.
• May be exposed to noise, dust, pollen, vibration, insects, and chemicals (e.g., fuels, cleaners, and approved herbicides/pesticides) with appropriate PPE and training.
• May work near roadways, moving vehicles, and the public; must follow traffic control and safety procedures.

Work Schedule

Full-time schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Overtime may be required based on operational needs.

Position Summary

The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting electrical and instrumentation systems within an industrial manufacturing environment. This role helps ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations by maintaining plant power distribution, process control equipment, field instruments, and related systems while following all company safety, quality, GMP, food safety, EMT, and SOP requirements.

Qualifications and Education

• Associate of Science degree in Electrical/Instrument Engineering Technology or a related two-year technical degree preferred.
• Equivalent work experience may be considered in place of formal education.
• HVAC certification is a plus.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Electrical & Instrument Technician in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with field instruments, PLCs, DCS, pneumatic systems, conveying systems, compressors, heat exchangers, underwater strand granulators, agitators, chillers, fuel-fired furnace heaters, motors, and process equipment is desired.
• Ability to read, understand, and revise electrical drawings.
• Ability to support a twenty-four-seven plant operation, including overtime, call-ins, shutdowns, and special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety guidelines, rules, regulations, plant safety programs, personal safety programs, and safe work practices.
• Perform all work safely and ensure equipment is operated and maintained properly without taking unnecessary risks to complete assignments.
• Follow all applicable Good Manufacturing Practices, quality standards, food safety guidelines, EMT requirements, and SOPs established by the company.
• Serve as an example of safety, quality, professionalism, and positive attitude when working with coworkers, contractors, engineers, and management.
• Interface with plant engineers and management regarding shutdowns, special projects, equipment issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Understand and follow written and verbal instructions, procedures, and assignments provided by management.

Maintenance and Technical Duties

• Maintain electrical and instrumentation components, plant power supplies, distribution systems, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and support field instruments, control systems, motors, electrical systems, and process equipment.
• Maintain required spare parts and support inventory needs for electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Prepare, implement, and complete preventive maintenance schedules to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Plan, procure, and implement approved in-plant modifications, improvements, and developments.
• Manage and coordinate electrical and instrumentation contract crews as assigned.
• Support shutdown activities, emergency repairs, and plant improvement projects.
• Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic, and process control systems.
• Ability to read, interpret, and revise electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, DCS, field instruments, control loops, motors, power distribution, and plant process equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with coworkers, management, engineers, and contractors.
• Commitment to safe work practices, quality standards, and continuous improvement.

Work Environment and Schedule

This position works in an industrial manufacturing plant environment and must be able to support a 24/7 operation. The role may require overtime, call-ins, weekend work, shutdown support, and work around operating equipment, process systems, and plant utilities.
